Congratulations go out to the New York Mets who are on their way to the World Series after sweeping the Chicago Cubs. This one was never in doubt as Lucas Duda hit a first inning three run homerun and they never looked back. This will be the Mets first World Series since 2015 and they look to win their first since 1986. They’ll face the winner of the Royals and Blue Jays series that heads back to Kansas City tomorrow.

There is no baseball today, but we do have the NFL coming back to us. Tonight’s game features the Seahawks taking on the 49ers in California. Seattle desperately needs a win after last week’s devastating home loss to the Carolina Panthers. San Francisco isn’t quite what they used to be and this should be a victory for the Seahawks. Then again with the way they have played fourth quarters this season, anything can happen.

Then of course we have a full slate of hockey games as well as college football highlighted by a Pac-12 showdown between Cal and UCLA. While Utah and Stanford have big division leads right now, both of these teams need a win to keep pace for bowl eligibility. This could be a good one between two in-state rivals.

NFL Betting Tips:

The Seattle Seahawks have to be the best 2-4 team in NFL history. They have a positive scoring differential, but they’ve had an absolutely brutal early schedule thus far this season, facing three of the NFL’s undefeated teams. They are finally get a break today against the lowly 49ers and I fully expect them to get back on track. 2-4 is not a great record, but the Seahawks should still be considered likely favorites to make the playoffs. Their “real” season should start tonight with a dominating win over San Fran. I’m all over Seattle -6.5 as Beast Mode will be in full effect.

College Football Betting Tips:

We’ve seen some great Thursday night games this year and this Cal vs. UCLA game should continue that trend. UCLA is coming off of two straight losses and is looking to right the ship. Cal would like to capitalize on that, but they will need to do a better job of keeping the ball in their hands. Cal has 2 or more turnovers in all but one game they’ve played this season including a huge six turnovers against Utah last time out. Of course, they’ve done well keeping their turnover differential even with 2+ in every game including two games of five TOs. The turnover battle will be a huge factor in this one.

UCLA is the favorite in this one and I expect them to grab the win today. Cal’s whole game plan seems to be grabbing turnovers to negate their own turnovers and I think UCLA will do a better job of holding on to the ball today. They have a powerful rushing attack and they have done a pretty good job holding on to the ball thus far this season. Plus, I always love the home team in college football as the atmosphere is so much more intimidating. UCLA -3.

NHL Betting Tips:

The Pittsburgh Penguins take on the red hot Dallas Stars tonight in our featured game of the night. The Penguins have been unable to do something they are almost always able to do, score goals as they only have 11 thus far on the season. That hasn’t been a problem for the Stars who are averaging over three per game in the young season. Despite these numbers, Dallas is a slight underdog heading into Pittsburgh tonight and we’re all over it. Dallas +127 has played great this season and despite Pittsburgh’s three straight wins I still don’t feel like they are the team that has contended over the past few years.
