Well, not only a great night for our free darts tips last night, but a great night for Brendan Dolan; creating history by becoming the first man to hit a nine-dart leg at the World Grand Prix. That set him on the road to victory and he came in a nice 5/1 winner for us. So, a 2-1 night, which now takes us to 14-8 for the tournament, with a profit of +22.67 units.

So we’ve got the final of the World Grand Prix left, featuring Phil Taylor and Brendan Dolan. Let’s see what bets we can find.

The markets at Betfair’s have been great during the World Grand Prix. Betfair is traditionally the best value around and the ability to trade your position during a match is great. And add in the free bet promotions, you’re onto a winner.

The Final: Phil Taylor versus Brendan Dolan.

I’d love to be able to write that I think Brendan Dolan has a chance here, but to be succinct, I can’t see it. Phil Taylor has been playing some great darts, hitting some brilliant checkouts and doesn’t seem intimidated by anyone. Yes, the crowd will be on Dolan’s side, but Taylor has played in front of hostile crowds in the past and he’s just good enough not to let it get to him.

The price on Taylor of anything from 1/14 to 1/25 makes for terrible reading for bettors, but there are other markets out there that will provide some value. Looking at the checkouts, both men took out finishes over over 160 in their semi-finals. With the line at 135.5, it’s a fair shout that one of them will fire in a big finish.

The other strange thing is that the bookies are almost favouring a whitewash or a 6-1 for Taylor. While Dolan doesn’t seem to be in The Power’s league, he’s more than capable of taking at least 2 sets, so the line of 7.5 sets in the match seems a bit unfair on the Northern Irishman, as I do think he’ll snatch at least a couple of sets.

As for the rest of the markets, there’s not much there for us, but I do think we’ve got a couple of great bets to make this final a bit more interesting than it might seem on paper.

That’s all from us for the World Grand Prix. But we’ll be back on November 12th for the Grand Slam of Darts, which has found a new home on Sky Sports. Until then, enjoy the final and happy betting!
