The first week of football is in the books and everyone is already thirsty for more. There were some good games on Sunday and some ugly ones last night. Regardless of the result, I think everyone is glad to see football back and betting games back in our lives.

Today it’s back to baseball though. The Wild Card race is really starting to heat up as most teams have about 18 or 19 games left. Seattle and the Yankees are the ones making big moves, going 7-3 over their last ten games to make it to 2 and 2.5 games back of the second Wild Card. The Orioles and Jays are hanging on to their spots, but the Red Sox (after their series with the Jays) are starting to make some ground for the division lead. There is still plenty of time left, but the Jays 3-7 run over their past ten has to be worrying for their fans as their starters have just not looked very good lately.

We should see more movement tonight as all of the contenders are in action once again. The big series to watch is the Orioles and Red Sox which is like to make movement in both the AL East and Wild Card races.

MLB Betting Tips:

The Mets have taken over the second Wild Card in the National League and now look to hold off the Cardinals the rest of the way. Last year’s National League champions are looking to do it again and they are in a great position to gain some ground tonight. They send Noah Syndergaard to the mound tonight against the Nationals’ AJ Cole. Syndegaard has been great again this season while AJ Cole is still coming into his own in this league and can struggle against better teams. The Mets offense has been on fire as of late and I expect them to show up to help Thor grab a win. Mets -130

The big Orioles and Red Sox game could be a good one tonight. The Orioles’ send Dylan Bundy to the mound who has been very solid as a starter while the Red Sox send their big trade deadline acquisition Drew Pomeranz. I like Bundy as a starter and the Baltimore bullpen is magic. While the Orioles struggle against lefty starters. The total is a bit high based on the pitching match-ups in my opinion and I see this one going under 9.5 runs.

The team we’ve been watching for the past several weeks is the Seattle Mariners. Their pythagorean record has them as one of the best teams in the American League and they are finally starting to look like it in the results column. They face rookie Alex Meyer of the Angels tonight and they should be able to extend their win streak. The Angels are just not good outside of Trout and the Mariners have had their way with them of late. A good start from Taijuan Walker is much needed for Seattle -123 who move up a game tonight.
