With week two in the NFL all but done we have a bit more information, but still a long way to go. Even with that being the case, the 2-0 teams like the Rams, Chiefs, and Cowboys have to be feeling great about themselves while the 0-2 teams like the Steelers, Jaguars, and Redskins are probably starting to worry. Nothing is set in stone yet but we are getting near that point. A win will be necessary for some of these teams in week 3.

Over the weekend, we finally saw the baseball season start to heat. The Brewers have been on an absolute tear and just won a series against the Cardinals. They are now one game back of the Wild Card and three games back in the division. They draw the Padres up next which should bolster their chances going forward.

Another hot team has been the Oakland Athletics who have surged to the top of the Wild Card in the American League. The Rays are behind them and the Indians now sit 1.5 games back and out of the playoffs at the moment. These three teams have been trading spots for awhile now and one team is going to end up disappointed with a 90+ win season and no playoff spot to speak of. When you consider that the NL is likely to have three teams with a worse record than that in the playoffs, that stinks for them. That’s baseball.

Today we have tips for Monday Night Football as well as some baseball action. Let’s get into it.

NFL Betting Tips:

Cleveland Browns at New York Jets: The Browns had so much hype heading into this season that it shouldn’t be surprising in retrospect that they had a bad one last week. When teams are being hyped up, players can start to buy into that hype a bit and not show up quite like they should.

That’s over now and I am expecting big things out of them tonight. Baker Mayfield is still that dude and him and Odell Beckham should be putting on a show tonight in prime time. The Jets will be without Sam Darnold at QB and are instead starting Trevor Siemian under center. He hasn’t played a single NFL snap since 2017 when he had just a 73.3 Quarterback Rating. I don’t see this one going well for him or the Jets. Lay the points.

Bet Browns -6.5

MLB Betting Tips:

San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers: This is a pure speculation play as Garret Richards is making his season debut here as he’s coming off an elbow injury and has pitched just seven games in the minors this season. I just don’t see him being ready for this one and the Brewers offense has been red hot of late. I see a short, possibly painful day for Richards and the Brewers with an early lead.

On the other side, we have Zach Davies. He’s had his struggles at home this season, but the Padres offense has just an 84 wRC+ against right handed pitchers on the season and they are definitely playing out the string here. This should be another big Milwaukee win as they make their way towards the playoffs.

Bet Brewers -1.5 (+120)
