This is my kind of day: PGA action, two football games and a whole slate of baseball. There’s even a little WNBA thrown in for good measure. This is a great time on the sports calendar with a lot of viewing and betting options to get to. The highlight tonight has to be the AFC West showdown between the Chiefs and the Broncos. These two teams switched reputations in week one with the Broncos winning with the defense and the Chiefs winning behind three touchdown passes from their quarterback. It’ll be interesting to see whether that trend continues or if Manning just faced a tough defense.

There is a lot to get to today so let’s just jump right into it.

NFL Betting Tips:

Here’s what I’ll say about this game: The Broncos aren’t the Texans. Whether Peyton Manning throws a touchdown or not, the Broncos defense is a tough one and Alex Smith will have a lot harder time throwing against it. Another thing about the Texans is they were playing without Arian Foster, which makes them a completely different football team, and they still only lost by seven. This is definitely a case of not getting too excited over one week of football. The Broncos were the better team last year, the year before and this year. Broncos +3 in a walk.

MLB Betting Tips:

Do the Astros have anything left? After coming into this series with the Rangers in first place they have now lost three straight and sit 1.5 games back now. Even worse, the Twins are now just 1.5 games back of them in the race for the second Wild Card. This dream season with two big trade acquisitions could end without a playoff berth. Crazy, but I think they’ll grab the win today to salvage the series. They goes against Colby Lewis who is allowing 1.2 HR/9. His last start saw him throw a near no-hitter, but in the three before that he allowed 15 runs. That second guy is more true to who he is and Astros +105 will save the series.

The Indians just keep hanging around. They won again last night to improve their record back to .500 and hope to get over the hump tonight. They send last year’s Cy Young winner Corey Kluber to the mound against Yordano Ventura. Kluber has been basically the same pitcher as he was last year, just with a higher ERA. He is still a strikeout machine and anchors the Indians staff. Ventura has looked very good recently, posting a 2.92 ERA over his past six games. He’s made an adjustment since returning from the disabled list and it has worked out very well for him. This is the best pitching match-up on the board tonight, by far, and it should live up to the hype and go under 7 runs.

College Football Betting Tips:

Clemson has been a big bully thus far this season, winning both of it’s games by scores of 41-10 and 49-10. Part of that is the early season soft schedule, but Clemson is still a very good football team. They go to Louisville where U of L is desperate for a win at 0-2. Both of their losses have been by seven points or loss and they have played decently. These two teams don’t have much (or any) history against one another with only one game played between the two. I think that Louisville will be desperate for a win today and that they’ll do everything they can to keep this one close. Clemson could very well win this game, but I don’t feel comfortable laying so many points with them on the road. Louisville +5.5 is a good number for what should be a very close game.
