Thursday night football is back again tonight with a big NFC East battle between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. The NFC East this year was supposed to belong to the Cowboys, but after big injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant this is suddenly anybody’s division and tonight (while still early) could have lasting effects on the race to the division crown. This is as big as it gets on Thursday night and we have a nice tip for you coming up.

There is also a nice college game as Memphis looks to further establish themselves as the next big thing in college football. While playing in the lowly AAC holds them back from being a true contender, they could be working their way towards a slot in one of the big conferences like the Big 12 and a win tonight could definitely help that. Then, of course, we have a full slate of baseball games tonight highlighted by Chris Sale of the White Sox and Michael Pineda of the Yankees doing battle in the Bronx. This is a great time in the sports schedule with plenty of betting options.

NFL Betting Tips:

There are some who think the Redskins are primed to strike for the division due to the Cowboys injuries, the Eagles early struggles and the Giants 0-2 record. With all due respect, those people are wrong. There are still many, many problems with the Redskins and, despite their shocking and unexpected win over the Rams last week, they are still just not a very good football team. The Giants have problems of their own, but they also have some very big weapons in their arsenal highlighted by Odell Beckham, Jr. Additionally, the Giants have owned Washington over the past two seasons, going 4-0 against them (straight up and against the spread.) In two games last season the Giants scored a combined 69 points. The Giants -3 simply doesn’t show them enough respect and I expect them to roll to an easy cover tonight.

College Football Betting Tips:

If Memphis was in a bigger conference they would be one of the most talked about teams in all of college football, but since they play in the AAC they are more of an afterthought. The players and the coaching staff known this and in a lot of ways tonight should be their coming out party. Memphis is currently carrying a 10-game winning streak and is looking to make it 11 on national television. Playing at home this game is already geared towards Memphis, but with Cincy quarterback likely out with a head injury this one could turn into a slaughter. Memphis -8.5 and we could be talking about this team in January.

MLB Betting Tips:

Chris Sale of the Yankees was one of the very best pitchers of the first half of the season, but that reputation has been seriously tarnished in the second half. In his last two starts he’s allowed 6 or more runs and he’s given up 3+ in four straight. Tonight he faces a Yankees team that is third in baseball with a .329 wOBA against left handers. The total on this is set pretty low and I think it will go over 6.5 runs based on Sale’s recent history alone. The Yankees send Michael Pineda to the mound who has been seriously up and down as of late. In three of his past five starts he has allowed 4+ runs and he’s only allowed one run in the other two. The White Sox offense is no great shakes though and I think he grabs a much needed Yankees -124 win tonight.
