The excitement of the US Open has died down, and it’s now time for the Travelers Championship 2015.

Before we get into that though, we’d just like to mention that as we predicted, Jordan Spieth won the US Open. Here’s the latest betting slip to add to our golf tips wall of fame:

It’s been an excellent year so far and we hope it will continue.

So this week on the PGA Tour, we have the Travelers Championship which is played in Cromwell, Connecticut. It was initially founded in 1952 and known then as the Insurance City Open, then from 67-2003 it was the Greater Hartford Open.

It’s a tournament that attracts a huge audience – actually, 2nd on the tour next to the Phoenix Open. It’s an interesting field as following the US Open, a lot of the golfers are taking a break. Bubba Watson is the current favourite to take it down, and last years winner Kevin Streelman is a tight 40/1.

Speaking of – let’s check out the odds shall we:

Travelers Championship 2015 Betting Odds:

  1. Bubba Watson: 12/1
  2. Brandt Snedeker: 14/1
  3. Patrick Reed: 16/1
  4. Billy Horschel: 18/1
  5. Sergio Garcia: 18/1
  6. Louis Oosthuizen: 25/1
  7. Harris English: 33/1
  8. Keegan Bradley: 33/1
  9. Zach Johnson: 35/1
  10. Francesco Molinari: 35/1

Kevin Na and Russell Knox are also both 35/1. Let’s get on with the tips for the Travelers Championship:

Travelers Championship Betting Tip #1: Brandt Snedeker

We had tipped Snedker last week for a Top 6 finish in the US Open – and boy did that come close. He got an 8th spot and was so close to a great cash.

We’re going to go with Snedeker again this week.

It’s hard not to.When you look at his form he is just playing the best golf at the moment. While an 8th place finish was disappointing for us – he will be elated with it. It’s a great cash on what is obviously one of the toughest courses in golf. He looked solid all throughout the Open, and we’ll continue to back him this week.

Bet: Take Snedeker to win and bet E/W at .

Other Thoughts:

Unfortunately in terms of betting tips that’s all we have for this week.

However we do have a few other thoughts:

The favourite for this course is Bubba Watson. No surprise considering 3 Top 5 finished in the last 5 years. However Watson hasn’t played much golf in the last little while – and when he has, he hasn’t looked good. While we do love Bubba – the odds of him winning it don’t make it worth a bet.

Last years winner Kevin Streelman has had good results on here before – with 6th place finish and 10th place. He’s floating around 50/1 so we may just throw a quarter unit bet on him purely for the sheer hell of it.

Another possibility is Marc Leishman and being degenerates, we’ll most likely have a quarter unit on him as well. He’s not been in the worst form of his life this year – 5th place a couple of weeks ago, 9th place earlier in the year. He’s played this event a few times and won it in 2012. He was 30th in 2013 and 11th in 2014. It’s possible he can get going – and with odds of 45/1 he is probably worth that quarter unit play.

Finally there is Zach Johnson floating around 35/1. He’s had a rough time of it lately and has never did well on this course. But his odds over the past few months have drifted to the point where we may just have a play on him. Again – quarter unit.
