This week in the golf we have both the Wyndham Championship and Czech Masters.

It was a close week last week. Bubba Watson, who had two poor days in the Olympics, ended up having an excellent 3rd day to give us hope. Alas it was not to be.

In the John Deere Classic, Zach Johnson started strongly but unfortunately he couldn’t keep it up and his -9 wasn’te nough. Ryan Moore was the superstar of this course. It was a frustrating one for me because as I was placing my bets, Ryans name stuck out. I didn’t bet on him and then he throws in a performance like that. Ugh. But looking back there was nothing that made me back him.

It ended up being a nice profitable week which could have been better. Johnson Wagner, our 125/1 pick cashed. Unfortunately it was a dead heat so the payout wasn’t huge but hey I’ll take it:

Nice to have that. Just disappointing he drifted on that last day otherwise it would have been a nice big cash for us in the $3100 range.

Alright let’s turn our attention to this weeks golf:

Wyndham Championship Betting Tips:

For reference, last year we backed Brooks Koepka, Webb Simpson and Carl Petterson. We came close with Webb Simpson placing 5th but that was it. This is obviously an incredible important tournament and it should be a good one. The majority of the top golfers are skipping this week which means the likes of Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler and Hideki Matsuyama are the favourites.

Webb Simpson: Simpson has performed well here in the past. Actually not only did he win it back in 2011 but he came 5th and 6th in the past two years. He also is on some solid enough form and I feel comfortable putting a half unit on him to win and e/w here.

Brandt Snedeker: I’m not fully convinced on Brandt. Yeah he won this back in 2007 and he’s had some nice finishes here – but also some poor finishes. It’s one of those where I’d be kicking myself if I didn’t bet it. The odds aren’t exactly my favourite here but I’ll back Snedeker to win and E/W for a quarter unit.

Bill Haas: Another quarter unit back. Not loving the odds – where’s the top golfers to push these downs down? But some decent form lately and decent performances here has me feeling I have to back him.

Finally two quarter unit bets on Ryan Moore and Jerry Kelly to win and E/W. To be honest there’s no strong rhyme or reason for them. Kelly has performed well here and I’m hoping last weeks performance was just an off week for him. Moore is on top form and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him come in and dominate here.

Unfortunately after looking into it I just don’t have anything for the Czech Masters. It’s a tricky one and I don’t feel too confident with it.

Enjoy this weeks golf.
