June 23rd, 2014 sees the final games of Group B take place, with both Netherlands and Chile already qualified.

Holland qualified via a couple of goalfests – completely drubbing Spain, and then beating Australia in a really fun game. Chile beat Australia – and honestly that was no easy feat as Australia are a feisty team. They also dominated Spain in that one.

You might think that with both teams having qualified, we’ll see a much quieter game but remember what is at stake here: the winner of this game will theoretically avoid Brazil, and that’s a big one.

Group A games won’t take place until later. I’m actually disappointed – it would have been nice to see Brazil only go through in 2nd place, then see how different this game would be. I’d probably be tipping over 6.5 own goals in this one!

If you’re wondering about history – in the 2010 World Cup, both Spain and Chile had already qualified by the time they faced off in their group game. The winner of the game would avoid Brazil. So we saw a solid game there with Spain defeating Chile 2-1. It wasn’t as offensive as we’d hope – but then with the loser playing Portugal, it was already going to be a tough match no matter what.

While Netherlands and Chile won’t be too happy about facing Croatia – you have to expect, with it being in Brazil, that they’ll be doing anything they can to avoid the hosts.

Robin Van Persie is out of this game too due to suspension.

Holland vs Chile Betting Tips:

It’s a tricky one, and the odds show that. Chile winning at 19/10 odds is a decent bet – especially with RVP being gone. But Holland have so many other sources for goals that it’s really hard to go with that one.

The Over/Under line is also pretty much correct. I think a 2-1 result is viable – but our system has the chances of that at 4/5 odds which puts it right on line with the bookies.

Let’s skip this, and go with the betting props instead.

Holland vs Chile Betting Props:

The one bet that stands out for us is Both Teams to Score. It’s 4/6 odds on that one.

Both teams have conceded goals versus the likes of Australia in this World Cup, and with neither team wanting to face the Brazilians we’re going to see some good football. You have to expect both teams will push up too – and it can be similar to Holland vs Spain in terms of teh amount of attacks and so on – a lot of build up play followed by quick attacks.

Over 2.5 goals & Yes for Both Teams to Score is a potential one too.
