June 13th sees one of the most anticipated clashes of the World Cup, with Spain taking on Holland in the opening clash of Group B of the World Cup.

Both teams were the stars of the qualifying stages in the UEFA Qualifying, winning their groups. And it was impressive that Spain managed to do that with ease despite France being in the group. The Netherlands won 9 out of 10 games as well – so both teams have the momentum going into this match.

Spain are the favourites to win the group at 8/11 odds, with Holland trailing at 5/2. The bookies believe Chile are worth a bang with 4/1 odds and Australia of course languishing behind at 33/1.

This is a massive match between the two teams because both will want the win to allow them some breathing space, with Chile expected to beat Australia later on that day.

Spain vs The Netherlands Betting Odds:

Spain To Win: 17/20
Draw: 12/5
The Netherlands To Win: 10/3

Spain vs Holland Betting Tips:

These two teams last played in the 2010 World Cup, with Spain winning 1-0 in extra time.

I see this game being a very tight affair. Unfortunately the Under 2.5 goals line is not worth betting at 8/15 odds – both teams have such attacking quality that if there happens to be an early goal, that will open up the game drastically.

This should be a tight affair, and I like the draw on this one. If you like Spain or Holland to win, I’d recommend betting Draw-Spain at 10/3 odds or Draw-Holland at 9/1 odds.

With Holland lining up in a 5-3-2 apparently, I can see this being a very defensive game. Even if they don’t – I think this will be a tight affair.

I will be taking the draw at 12/5 odds.

Spain vs Holland Betting Props:

The only betting prop that really stands out for this match is the 1st Half Goal Line.

Like I said – I see this being very tight. Neither team wants to lose obviously – and I don’t think either team will want to win as much. They’ll be playing very careful controlled football.

I like a quiet first half and then some action in the second. Based on that, the goal line in the first half is appealing. Under 1.5 is brutal at 1/4, so I’m liking 11/8 odds on no goals in the first half.

You can also bet a bit safer – no goal before 34:00 at 5/6 odds.

As it is I just see this being a very tight and defensive first half with very few chances. As much as “Spain vs Holland” sounds like a dream clash – it really won’t be. Much like a lot of those EPL games that end 0-0 – it’s going to be a very tight, nervy affair.

Bet Under 0.5 goals for 11/8 odds in the first half
