Today we’ll look at the English Championship games taking place on Saturday, January 11th.

I managed to muck up the date for the Serie A tips yesterday. It was meant to be January 11th, 2020 and instead I put January 10th, 2019. Amazing. Anyway they’re fixed now and here is Saturdays Serie A Tips.

The English Championship is nice and tight which I love. Swansea are in 6th place – the lowest promotional playoff spot – at 41 points. Yet Boro and Derby who are tied for 16th, are just 8 points away from that. All it takes is a couple of wins and a team can go from hovering just above the relegation zone to battling for the playoffs.

To make it more fun Leeds and West Brom, who have been running away with it, have been stumbling quite hard lately. So them both going up automatically isn’t for certain.

Let’s get to the tips.

Luton vs Birmingham City Betting Tips:

Luton are rooted at the bottom of the English Championship. Birmingham are hovering above the relegation zone and have 8 more points then Luton.

Birmingham have one of the worst offensive records in the league – worse than Lutons – but I’ve noticed a change from them lately. Their offense has started ticking. While they lost their last two games they were able to score 2 against Wigan and 4 against Leeds. The Leeds one was fantastic as that results in about 19% of the goals Leeds have conceded this season.

Luton are stuttering goal wise. They’re usually better at home though with 1.58 goals scored on average at home.

This is a tight one. It has the potential for goals so over 2.5 goals is appealing. I like the odds on Birmingham to win though. I’ll go with Birmingham team goals.

Middlesbrough vs Derby Betting Tips:

I wish I had the guts to back Derby here.

I tipped Derby to beat Barnsley with the debut of Wayne Rooney giving them a boost. They’re also a pretty solid home team. Piss poor on the road to be fair.

Boro come into this one on the back of 4 wins including three clean sheets. They are looking for their 5th win at home in a row.

This was one initially I wanted to back Derby or Draw but Boro at home are bloody solid.

I do think Derby can get on the scoresheet though. They have scored in three consecutive matches and Wayne Rooney will add something to the squad no doubt.

However Boro are an on form team at the moment.

Both teams are at the bottom of the league for goalscoring however both have runs going on right now and I like this to be a competitive game. Rooney has a lot to prove.
