Well, this is certainly a football game.

A match-up between town teams that are currently on the wrong side of .500 with slim playoff hopes. For the Titans, this is a chance to get to even on the season. For the Jaguars, it’s pretty much must-win if they want a chance at respectability. We’ve been down this road before with these teams, many times over the past few years, but tonight’s game does offer hope for the future of these franchises. Marcus Mariota looks like he’s for real and should be a force for the Titans for a long time to come. The same can’t quite be said about Blake Bortles, but there are good signs in there if you look hard enough.

NFL Betting Tips:

Tonight’s game should come down to the running game, which the Titans have been excellent at this year. They are averaging 143 yards per game while the Jaguars are allowing 109 yards per game. If they are able to put up those types of numbers, they should be able to succeed in this game. Tennessee just has the better running game, better quarterback and are playing at home which should spell a Titans -3.5 victory.

This game should feature some scoring though. Both of these offenses should benefit from playing the opposing defense. The total seems low on this one as these teams have combined to allow 49 points per game. Take the over 43 on this one as there will be touchdowns from both sides.

NBA Betting Tips:

The strangest line of the season might be the Celtics -1 against the Chicago Bulls. Boston is being picked by everyone for 50 wins, coach of the year and being the one hope of a non-Cavs Finals this year. They are a well-oiled machine that added Al Horford which should make them a real threat this year. Meanwhile, the Bulls are one of the biggest mish-mash teams in the league. They have talent in Rondo, Wade and Butler, but the question of how they will fit is a big one. Honestly, it seems like they won’t fit and this one feels like a layup.

If anything, that line should be more like the Spurs -8.5 over the Kings. The Spurs looked awesome against the Warriors on opening night, forcing tons of turnovers and playing great all around defense. If they were able to do that in Oakland on Opening Night, I don’t think the Kings opening a new stadium will phase them that much.

College Football Betting Tips:

If you’re looking for a great football game to watch tonight, don’t bother with the NFL. The college game between Virginia Tech and Boston College could very easily steal the show for game of the night. Both of these teams sit at 5-2 on the season and are angling for bowl position. Virginia Tech has had a great defense thus far this season while Pittsburgh has a blistering rushing attack. This one could definitely feature some fireworks. Virginia Tech is the favorite in this one, but Pittsburgh +3.5 is a good value as a home underdog.
