The Lightning got a huge win (and the over) over the Leafs last night and this team looks to be far and away the best team in the NHL this season. Of course, the playoffs are a different animal and they will be pushed at some point. That said, this team at +345 to win the Cup might be a really good bet. They have 11 more wins than anyone in the league and 17 more points than the next closest team. They are deep, they are talented and they are dangerous.

A lot of betting tips to get to today so let’s just jump right in.

College Basketball Betting Tips:

Gonzaga vs. St. Mary’s: Gonzaga is one of the best teams in the country and this might be one of their best teams ever. They have the chance to lock up the WCC tournament crown here and get a nice break until the tournament starts. I feel this team is really good and they should be locked in for this one. It’s a big line, but they have covered a lot of big lines this season.

Bet Gonzaga -14.5

NBA Betting Tips:

San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks: The Spurs have been on fire of late as they’ve won their past five games. The Mavericks on the other hand, have not.

The NBA has done a good job at killing all-out tanking, but then you have a team like the Mavericks who once eliminated from playoff contention have no motivation to win. The difference in draft odds and the player you might get in the draft between the #14 worst record and the #8 is just too huge. There is a big chance a team moves up this year and if that’s the Mavericks then they will keep the pick they traded this season. That’s huge for them.

All of this has been a long way of saying that I think the Spurs continue their winning ways tonight. They have more talent on the court than the Mavs and they want this win far more. Dallas has a great home record this year, but I don’t see that carrying on here.

Bet Spurs -4.5

NHL Betting Tips:

Another great night for overs in the NHL.

Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins: The Caps have been on fire lately and they seem to be gearing up for another run at the Cup. How crazy would that be after the history we’ve seen with this team? Both of these teams are top-7 in goals per game and it seems like we always see fireworks when these two teams meet up. Crosby and Ovechkin may no longer be the one-two best players in the league, but they are still really good and really dangerous when it comes to putting points on the board.

Bet Penguins/Capitals Over 6.5 Goals

Boston Bruins at Columbus Blue Jackets: In a weird bit of scheduling, this is the first meeting between these two teams this season. The more recent games between them in previous seasons have seen a ton of goal scoring with final totals of 9, 9 and 7. Boston is really playing some great hockey right now while the Jackets are getting desperate to hold on to their playoff spot. I expect goals here.

Bet Bruins/Jackets Over 6 Goals
