An 0-1 record last night.

We took the Raptors -2.5 over the Rockets last night, but the Rockets just wouldn’t let that one come through. The Raptors never led in this game, but they definitely made it interesting. They got it down to 119-121 in the fourth quarter and had it set up for Kawhi Leonard to take the final shot. He missed a three-pointer and the Rockets won. Houston wouldn’t be stopped here as despite shooing just 10-for-46 from three (21.7%), they got to the rack and the line a lot. The Raptors made four more threes in this game, but when your opponent shoots 15 more free throws than you – it’s hard to compete.

Last night was one of those nights where there were some games I was leaning towards, but just couldn’t bite the bullet on and, of course, those are the ones that won.

Kind of small slate tonight with just five games on the books. Let’s take a look and see what looks good.

Indiana Pacers vs. Memphis Grizzlies: The Pacers just lost Victor Oladipo for the season and it will be interesting to see how they respond. A lot of times teams will rally around that player in the first few games before falling down to earth so I am off the Grizzlies here.

My system does see the Pacers as around a -4 favorite WITH Oladipo and this line is -4 without him. A home team getting four points with the opposing team not having their best player is awfully tempting, but I’ll be taking a wait and see approach here.

Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics: The game of the night is for sure this one. Both of these teams are hot with five straight wins for Boston and nine straight wins for Golden State. I am not going against the Warriors right now, and there is just enough doubt that this one means more to Boston that I am afraid to go with them. This should be a ton of fun to watch though.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Denver Nuggets Betting Tips:

Typically a team playing at Denver is music to my ears, but I would normally like the Sixers quite a bit here. For one, they were off yesterday so hopefully have had some time to acclimate to the conditions. Not only that, they haven’t played since the 23rd so have a nice rest advantage here. They are 7-4 straight up when have 2 days rest.

Denver played a tough road game against the Jazz last night in which they lost and head home here. You have to feel sorry for Nikola Jokic having to bang with Rudy Gobert yesterday and then Joel Embiid again tonight. That kind of thing would have to have an effect on a guy.

Except here’s the thing: Joel Embiid is listed as OUT for this one and Jimmy Butler is listed as doubtful. Despite the rest advantage, the Sixers are majorly hobbled here and Denver should bounce back with a nice win. The line is a bit higher than I’d like, but I just don’t buy the Sixers without Butler and Embiid.
