We’re into the final third of the season now, and Chelsea seem to be galloping away with the title. Manchester City had a chance to claw back few points on them, but it wasn’t to be against Stoke, no matter how hard they banged on the Stoke door. Tottenham are surprising a few folk still sitting in second place, but is it only a matter of time until Manchester City overhaul them? Well, the way City have been playing, which, for me, has been rather inconsistent, I don’t know, we might just be seeing Tottenham in second come the end of the season. The big question might just be are Arsenal going to be in the Champions League next season? Or will it be Chelsea and Tottenham representing London in Europe’s premier club competition in the 2017/’18 season? Again, it’s hard to say given how inconsistent the Gunners have been all year.

And how did Lawro get on last week? After making a profit last week and getting us back into the 30s in terms of units won, another win would be great for Mark Lawrenson, that’s for sure. I’ve been amazed at how well Lawro’s predictions have been going considering his awful start to the season. He’s actually continued his great run with six correct results and two correct scores last week. While his correct score prices weren’t amazing, 15/2 and 7/1 winners are still healthy for the bank balance. So Lawro made a profit of +6.93 units last week, which takes his profit for the season up to a very nice +44.10 units. Which means that if you followed Lawro’s predictions to a £10 stake, you would have £441 to your name, and hopefully it keeps on going for the rest of the season, as I’d love to finish the season over 500 quid in profit thanks to Mark Lawrenson’s predictions.

No FA Cup upsets predicted by Lawro this time around, yet again, and the way this season has gone, I think that’s a mistake. I don’t know where the upset will come, but surely we can’t have four of the top five teams in the Premiership in the final four of the FA Cup? I’d love a Lincoln win, but I’d take a Millwall or Middlesbrough win. Just something a bit different would be nice. In the Premiership, again, no real upsets predicted, but then it is a bit of a boring set of fixtures, isn’t it? I’ve got much more interest in today’s Calcutta Cup match – come on, Scotland!
