Russia vs Czech Republic is the second game of the Euro 2012 Tournament. It takes place on June 8th, immediately following the opener of Poland vs Greece.

This is a game I am really looking forward to. Both teams can attack, and both teams show a lot of creativity. More importantly, both teams are prone to defensive mistakes, so this could be quite the fun game.

As you can see, the odds are rather tight here, with bookmakers expecting a tight game.

I really don’t see that being the case. Russia are a very solid team. Czech Republic don’t even belong in Euro 2012. They got through thanks to some horrible refereeing decisions, and a complete brain fart by Scotland manager Craig Levein(with his 4-6-0 tactic). Russia meanwhile showed a very strict and disciplined team that dominated their group.

Russia are EASILY going to win this game. Czech Republic have a few solid individuals, but Russia as a team are just overall better. Dick Advocaat is one of the best managers when it comes to tactics(as a Rangers fan I know!) and his Russia side will easily displace the Czech Republic.

Russia are going to come out and show why they are the favourites in this group. Advocaat will have a plan, and that plan will be to score early and completely rattle the Czech Republic. Bet Russia-Russia for 5/2

Russia vs Czech Republic Over/Under:

Rarely during Euro 2012 will I recommend betting Over 2.5 goals in games. This should be obvious – so many games are tight ones and the betting odds just aren’t there. However this is one game where the betting odds are in our favour. Both teams will be attacking, both teams have players that can create magic out of nothing, and both teams have defenses that are prone to mistakes. Back Over 2.5 goals at 7/5
