No wins at the Sony Open. What a disappointment Tom Kim was there although you can’t blame him really – tee times and the wind screwed him. Gotta love the variance of weather in golf. Corey Conners came closest to an E/W cash and was 2 strokes out of that.

Thankfully at least I crushed it with the NFL on Sunday and Monday.

Si Woo Kim and Bermudagrass – what a combo.

Lets get onto this week:

The American Express Betting Tips:

Such a catchy name. 1u = $125. E/W is to win & top 5 unless specified otherwise.

$62.50 on Tom Hoge to Win & E/W 40/1

Didn’t play too bad last week and I think will be motivated after the drop. Has started the year off in solid form. Pops up in my metrics, and at a course where he came 2nd here last year and 6th a couple years prior to that.

$62.50 on Will Zalatoris To Win & E/W 20/1

Will looked good last week. No back issues. Swing alteration went well it appears. Played well here last year. Hopefully he can go from strength to strength.

$31.26 on Tony Finau To Win at 14/1

Don’t think the odds are worth betting E/W although it’s Tony so a good chance he ends up in Top 5. Your call there. A 4th place here a couple of years ago, looks to be in form. Should suit this course. I’m hesitant to bet more on him due to prior course history.

Couple of other thoughts:

– If you’re looking for another winner, I don’t hate Cantlay at all. Odds just too short for me.
– If you want a longshot bet, Byeong-Hun An stood out slightly due to 12th last week and then an 8th here a couple years ago. I’m taking a shot on him at $10 to win & E/W at 175/1. There are a lot of different bets you could make of course like making the cut, top 40 etc for shorter odds. Doesn’t pop up on my metrics.
