The NBA playoffs are right around the corner and the NHL playoffs start tomorrow. This is a wonderful time for sports and we couldn’t be more excited.

In the NBA, the playoffs races are tight as can be. The top 7 spots are clinched with the Wolves and Nuggets in a dog fight for that last spot. Denver is hot right now, but with Jimmy Butler coming back that could swing things back in the Wolves favor. The seeds aren’t even remotely set either with Portland and Utah vying for the third seed and the Blazers, Pelicans, Jazz, Thunder and Spurs all in the mix for the #4 seed.

Milwaukee is a team to watch as they have a game against the Sixers left. Win that and they could get the #6 seed. Lose that and Philly could end up with the #3 seed, moving Cleveland to #4. Very interesting.

We have some great NBA action tonight as well as a full MLB slate so let’s get right into it.

MLB Betting Tips:

I’m really loving Toronto -117 tonight at Baltimore. Aaron Sanchez has had a rough start, but he is a lot better pitcher than we’ve seen while Andrew Cashner has allowed four homeruns in the first two games of the season. This just seems like a route for Toronto and another loss for the Orioles.

The Mariners -109 are another team I’m liking tonight as Felix Hernandez is due for a bounceback start. I am not a fan of lefty Eric Skoglund and think Seattle hits him hard today. KC has had one of the worst offenses in baseball to start the year and I expect the crafty veteran to take full advantage of that.

In the late game, I love the Rockies -1.5 over the Padres. San Diego has not been a great team this year, but have gotten promising results from Joey Lucchesi. Of course, he know has to pitch in the worst park in baseball for pitchers against a team that crushes lefties. I don’t like how that goes for him today.

NBA Betting Tips:

I think the Philadelphia 76ers want that third seed and they want it bad. They’ve won an amazing 14 in a row and tonight face a Hawks team that is heading for the lottery. Yes, they’ve won a couple of games lately but they are still not a great squad. There is a chance that Ben Simmons is out for this one, but I honestly don’t think it matters. Philly is locked in and needs to win this one to secure their spot. I think they’ll do it, Sixers -9.5.

I don’t care who is on the floor for these teams, the Wizards have lost four straight and are 2-8 in their last ten. They should not be giving huge points to the Celtics who have done it all season without star players. No Gordon Hayward, no Kyrie Irving, no problem. Boston +7.5 is an easy pick for me as the Wizards are stumbling and the Celtics are just better.
