A rough 1-3 last night.

We laid the runs in all of our games and both the Yankees and Indians won by one run. Right teams, wrong results.

The Indians game really annoys me because I said that I expected some positive regression from Kevin Gausman going forward, but just not in the game. Well, it was in that game as he went 8 innings, allowing only four hits with seven strikeouts. Carlos Carrasco continued his awesome start and is now 4-0 on the season.

The Dodgers won against the Marlins, but just weren’t able to string together any offense. This team really misses Justin Turner on offense and really needs Yasiel Puig to start hitting again.

Thank god for the Yankees. It’s too bad we couldn’t just combine the score of all these games because the Yankees would’ve won it for us. They tagged Jake Odorizzi for five runs then added another nine against the bullpen.

For the second day in a row I picked Seattle when I really should’ve picked the over. In both games, I liked them to win slugfest. Well, an over is a lot safer bet in a slugfest than an individual team. Lesson learned.

Weather is a big factor tonight so while there are a couple of games I love, I doubt they will play. Or if they do play, we could see some delays and weird things happen with pitching and delays. Just going to skip those and go with these.

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox Betting Tips:

Third time’s the charm, right? I’ve had good reason to think the Mariners would score some runs the last two days and in both games they scored four runs, but the pitching let them down. Tonight, should be better. I like the platoon advantage of Marco Gonzales against this White Sox team. They don’t have horrible stats against lefties, but they are worse against lefties than righties and Marco Gonzales is due for some regression. He has a 5.94 ERA, but his FIP is 3.18. He’s due.

The reason I love this is that I still trust that Mariners offense. Chris Volstad has appeared in four games as a reliever this season with a 4.70 ERA/4.20 FIP. This will be his first start and that isn’t likely to go well for him. Seattle wins today.

Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers Betting Tips:

The Athletics have been the 2nd best hitting team by OPS thus far this season. I said earlier this year that I like them this season and this is a good spot to grab them. They are a great hitting team and have hit lefties pretty well thus far. Andrew Triggs is not their best starter, but I think he’s due for some positive regression. The Rangers are 19th in OPS vs. RH and he could have a decent showing today.

They go against Cole Hamels who is really struggling early. He’s allowed seven homeruns in five starts this year and has a 4.76 ERA/5.26 FIP on the season. He’s definitely on the downturn of his career and this young, powerful Athletics lineup could make him pay for it today.
