It was a 1-1 day for a profit in Ligue 1 in France.
We lost with Reims to win as they drew 1-1 with Amiens. That was an unlucky one as I didn’t think Amiens would be able to get on the scoreboard. they got a penalty which was missed but they scored the rebound to get the draw there.
We won however with Rennes to beat Nimes. Rennes bounced back with a tight but solid 1-0 victory over Nimes.
I haven’t focused much on the German Bundesliga this year. I’ll cover Saturdays EPL games tomorrow. We’ll look at the Bundesliga games taking place on Saturday, January 18th today with them returning from the break:
Cologne vs Wolfsburg Betting Tips:
Cologne went into the Winter Break on the back of three solid wins over Werder Bremen, Eintract Frankfurt and Leverkusen to propel them to 15th in the Bundesliga, just above the relegation zone.
The break probably hurt their momentum a bit. Wolfsburg will be glad of the break as they had slipped all the way to 9th with a bad run of games. They picked up wins here and there but the last couple of months is something Wolfsburg fans will want to forget as they dropped out of the Top 6.
I think you’ve got two motivated teams here. Cologne looking to start where they left off and Wolfsburg looking post break at turning things around and getting into the top 6 post haste.
Stats wise, it shoul be a competitive game. BTTS isn’t a strong metric for either teams in these spots with Cologne 38% BTTS at home, and Wolfsburg BTTS just 25%.
Crap ha. This is one where I have spent a lot of time analyzing it and then I swerved from my original bets. Initially I thought Cologne might take it then I thought BTTS.
With the Wolfsburg defense this might be a stalemate. Very small play here. Annoying as my gut says BTTS comes in but the stats of both teams does not line up with the 1.70 odds.

Hoffenheim vs Eintract Frankfurt Betting Tips:
A nice price on Hoffenheim. They are 7th in the league taking on 13th placed Eintract Frankfurt.
They went into the break on the back of two wins over Dortmund and Union Berlin. Frankfurt will be sad that they couldn’t even beat Paderborn and are going into this with a 7 game run without a win. They have also won just once in 8 games away. Their away form is dreadful.
Thing is if you go by xPts both teams should be switched around ha which is why the odds are fairly even. Frankfurt also have a good record over Hoffenheim.
It’s a bit of a high variance play all things considered. But I think there is value on Hoffenheim.
Man that was two tough picks I’m never tipping the Bundesliga gain!
