The big story of the NFL season has been the emergence of Lamar Jackson. He is doing things not seen in this league for a long time and is getting some real MVP buzz as he is carrying the Ravens to the top of the AFC. He has 28 passing touchdowns on the season and 7 rushing touchdowns. If he’s your fantasy football quarterback, there’s a good chance your team is doing pretty well. He’s been that good.

Jackson has been dealing with a quad injury, but he promises he will play tonight against the Jets and that should make for quite the show. The Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention, but they’ve actually won four of their last five games with an improved defense. As we’ve seen all season though, it doesn’t really matter how good the defense is as the Ravens offense is like no other in this league thanks to Jackson.

The Ravens are a -16.5 favorite at home for tonight’s game with a total set at 44.5.

NFL Betting Tips:

New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens have had their last two games decided by seven points or less while the two games prior to that saw them winning by 34+. What version of the Ravens are we going to get tonight? I am thinking the latter.

The Jets haven’t played what I would consider a quality opponent, a playoff threat, since October 21st when they lost 33-0 to the Patriots. I am thinking that is a good blueprint for what this game might be like. The Jets offense has struggled all season and I don’t see them putting up a ton of points here. While the Ravens should continue to do what they do on offense. It’s a lot to lay, but I think this Ravens offense can make this line seem small by the time the clock runs out.

Bet Ravens -16.5

NBA Betting Tips:

Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics: This is a huge match-up in the Eastern Conference that is unfortunately hampered by a bad schedule. The Celtics will be playing their third game in four nights and the second half of a back-to-back involving travel tonight. The Celtics have had an awesome record at home this season, but I’m afraid that it is going to come to an end here.

Even without the travel implications I think that might have been the case. The Celtics really struggle in the front court and the Sixers will be throwing Joel Embiid and Al Horford at them. That’s just not fair and the Sixers should be able to take care of business tonight.

Bet Sixers -1.5

Portland Trail Blazers at Denver Nuggets: The Blazers being “only” 10-15 is a true testament to what they’ve built there. This team has no front court, barely any wings, and they have had tons of injuries. Yet they keep fighting every night and are at the fringes of the back of the playoff race.

Unfortunately for them, they head to Denver tonight which is one of the tougher teams in the West and one of the hardest places to play on the road in the NBA. Denver is returning from a three-game road trip where they lost every game and they have to be desperate for some home cooking here. I think they acquit themselves well and get back in the win column here.

Bet Jazz -6.5
