Three games and three NBA tips for December 14th, 2021.

A 4-2 record last week brings us to 32-16 on the season.

There were actually supposed to be four games tonight, but the Bulls are having a COVID outbreak to the point where the league postponed two of their games for this week. This has been a problem throughout the league of late and the NHL as well. It will be interesting to see how things go with this going forward with the holidays right around the corner.

Speaking of the holidays, let’s make a few bucks on some games tonight. My kid needs an X-Box.

Golden State Warriors at New York Knicks Betting Tips:

The Warriors have been struggling a bit of late with only a 3-2 record over their last five games and a win last night that they barely snuck out against Indiana. One thing that has been playing into this is Stephen Curry’s chase of the all-time three-pointers made record and his struggles from deep in that chase. He only needs two more to get there and he couldn’t ask for a better stage to do it. A game on national television in basketball’s most famous arena. It will happen tonight and then some.

Golden State is playing their third game in four nights and the second half of a road back-to-back here which is something that keeps me from betting on them. I think they will win as the Knicks are just 3-7 over their past ten games, but I don’t mess with the schedule gods.

However, I do think that the Warriors are going to break out of their shooting slump and by that I mean Steph Curry is going off. When this team is on they almost always hit the over as they are 17-8-1 over/under on the season. Tonight should make 18.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets Betting Tips:

COVID protocols are hitting a big portion of this Nets roster right now with multiple players out tonight. Kevin Durant is listed as questionable here as well so this isn’t the Nets you are expecting to see. Despite all that, they are still a big favorite here.

Toronto has been playing well of late with a 4-1 record over their past five games. Without Durant and LaMarcus Aldrige, Brooklyn is going to have a serious deficit when it comes to big men. James Harden can do some special things, but the combination of Scottie Barnes and Scottie Barnes could really dominate things in the paint in this one.

I think the Raps are a worthy bet taking the points.

Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers Betting Tips:

The Suns are without DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker, but this is a match-up where that shouldn’t really hurt them all that much. Even with the absences they still have a great defense which is not something I would say about Portland who have the 29th ranked defense in the league.

The Blazers have lost five straight games and eight out of their past nine games. The Suns are gunning for that #1 seed. I can’t find a good reason to go against them.
