Today we’ll focus on the English Championship games taking place on Saturday, February 8th.
Things are heating up in the Championship. At the top it’s not clear anymore who is going to gain automatic promotion. Both West Brom and Leeds are struggling and this has allowed the likes of Fulham, Notts Forest, Brentford and Bristol City to push their way into automatic promotion contention.
At the other end of the table – well it’s not as tight. Both Barnsley and Luton are looking in bad shape. However as Wigan and Stoke have recently proven it just takes a few wins to change all your fortunes.
We’ve got some massive games this weekend such as Notts Forest vs Leeds. Must admit I’ve been paying a lot more attention to the Championship lately with how open it is, and looking forward to the games. Bristol City play Birmingham today and usually I’d have it on in the background but now it’s one I’m all geared up for. I haven’t had time to analyze that one but I’ve thrown 2u on Bristol City to win. Not an official tip but they are playing some great defensive football at the moment and should shut out Birmingham.

Wigan vs Preston Betting Tips:
Boy were Wigan lucky to beat Leeds. xG for that one was 2.1-0.2 in favour of Leeds. What an upset that was and will give them confidence.
Preston meanwhile are 7th in the league and this is a key one for them. The problem with Preston however is that they just can’t get it done away.
Wigan will be hoping to see the return of Antonee Robinson.
Wigan have some confidence going. They’ve been performing good at home all season long. Preston know they can’t lose this one as this is a key game for them in the promotion race. They’re coming off some decent enough away form and had that 3-0 win away to Barnsley.
I like Wigans goalscoring lately though. They’re starting to convert more and I think both teams can get on the scoresheet.

Blackburn vs Fulham Betting Tips:
I’m hoping this one ends up being a cracker of a match.
Blackburn are still chasing a possible playoff spot. Fulham of course are chasing West Brom and Leeds.
Fulham have one of the better defensive records in the league, although that fell apart when they conceded 2 to Huddersfield.
Blackburn are a solid home team and Fulham have only logged 29% clean sheets away this season.
Just another game where I feel both teams are going to be competitive, and that it results in goals for both. 60% of Blackburns home games have been BTTS and 50% of Fulhams away games have. It’s one of those games where when I look at it I think both teams can score the goals here. I’m more concerned about Blackburn but they usually do the job at scoring at home.
