After a weekend of UEFA Nations League action, we’re back to regular domestic football this week and we’ve got quite the game to kick us off in the English Premier League as Chelsea take on Manchester United.
Of course if you’ve read even one soccer site this week you’d know about that as this game and Jose Mourinho in particular is getting all the coverage.
Either way although I’m enjoying the UEFA Nations League (albeit a little bit less after that Scotland vs Israel result) I’m quite happy to get back to domestic football.
Let’s get to it:
Chelsea vs Manchester United Betting Tips:
I mean I’ve got to tip this one don’t I?
Man Utd are a team with a few issues at the moment. They’re going against a Chelsea team that are performing extremely well and have 20 points in 8 games.
Taking everything about the United and Mourinho situation aside, Chelsea are quite simply a much better team. Man Utds main issue at the moment is they are conceding goals and they just can’t score too well either.
Honestly this is one where I am very, very tempted to take Chelsea -1. I think they are powerful enough that they can really handle Man Utd here. Don’t forget how that Man Utd vs Newcastle game started for example and while Man Utd pulled themselves up it was initially disastrous. The danger is still there but looking at the numbers I’ve just got to go with Chelsea to get this one.

Bournemouth vs Southampton Betting Tips:
Bournemouth have been very impressive so far this season and I’m surprised at the odds. They’re currently 6th place in the league and really deserve to be there with excellent form especially at home.
Defensively they struggle a tad and their offense seems to run hot and cold. However Southampton are on a run of three games without a goal and three convincing defeats.
While that will no doubt motivate Southampton especially coming off the international break – I’ve got to go with The Cherries to keep their great run going.

Newcastle vs Brighton Betting Tips:
Gut feeling – Newcastle get their first win of the season.
They’re not getting blown out or anything and there has been games where they have had some damn solid chances. That Manchester United result hurt but they have had a tough schedule to the season having played Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and Man United.
They’ve been able to draw against two teams on their level in Palace and Cardiff, and both those games were away so I think they have what it takes at home to get the win here.
