Two days in a row! Look at me go.
Hopefully I can keep up the consistency. It may help that I’ve been up since 4am watching the NJPW G1 Climax event. I usually get up at 5am anyway but that extra hour on the day is a nice little bonus.
Today I will look at the EPL Games taking place on Sunday, September 20th.
We’ve got four games on the go. The most notable one will be of course Chelsea vs Liverpool. You know what’s a pain in the arse? Bringing up the sportsbooks with their live updates while a game is going on ha. Just got “spoiled” that the Everton disallowed goal would stand based on that. Not a biggie but still a minor annoyance that.
Let’s get right into it:
EPL Betting Tips: September 20th, 2020
Southampton vs Tottenham: Southampton lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace in the opener while Spurs lost 1-0 to Everton. The Spurs one was a disappointing performance from them with less than 1 xG. Spurs will be spurred on with the rumours that Bale is returning of course and boy do they need him. However he will be out of action for a few weeks it sounds like due to a knee injury.
Southampton looked a bit disappointing against Palace and of course against Brentford. Honestly for me I think the bale news will spur Spurs on (yes I meant that). I think that is a big boost to the club and I will take 1u on Tottenham 2.37 odds and was very tempted to do more.
Newcastle vs Brighton: Odds wise a very even game. Newcastle looked impressive in their deserved win over West Ham last week. Brighton got thumped by Chelsea but xG wise looked good with 1.44. I think Brighton should be good for goals. They looked like it against Pompey. Last time these two played it was a boring draw. Actually if you look at recent games between the two it won’t be a good match but I will go for this game to upset the apple cart and take 1u on over 2.5 goals at 2.37 odds.
Chelsea vs Liverpool: Liverpool of course had an absolute belter start to the season with a 4-3 win against Leeds. Amusingly Leeds xG was only 0.27. Chelsea were fun last year with a weak defence at times but made up for it with goals and hoping for more of that. Liverpool look like they are going to be high scoring just like last year and that’s a good sign. Unless Chelsea have fixed their defensive issues I like this to be a good high scoring game. 1u on over 3.5 goals at 2.42 odds.
Leicester vs Burnley: Burnley were one of the better sides post covid last year and will hope to continue that sort of form going into this one. Brendan Rodgers is looking for his 100th win as an EPL Mnaager in this one. Wes Morgan should be back for Leicester which would be a good move for them. I think this will be competitive and I am not convinced Leicester take it. 1u on Both Teams to Score at 2.00 odds.
