Last week in the Formula 1 we unfortunately only got 1 of the 3 bets right – which was Lewis Hamilton to win the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Even that one looked a bit dicey to begin with! Holy was it an intense race.

No rest for the wicked however as the Formula 1 immediately turn their attentions to the German Grand Prix this weekend.

The 2 people with the most wins at the German Grand Prix are German – Rudolf Carraciola and Michael Schumacher. Schumacher won it 4 times. Last years German Grand Prix did not take place however they will be back at Hockenheim this year.

This race has actually been won by Germans the last two times it took place. In 2013 in Nurburgring Sebastian Vettel picked up his first victory here while in 2014 Nico Rosberg was the winner a Hockenheimring. That was a nice dominant race by Rosberg although it helped that Hamilton crashed with that issue with Button. Hamilton did of course manage to get into 3rd place.

we’re going to go with Nico Rosberg to get back on track and get his second win at the German Grand prix. I mean it almost seems fitting that this is the race he bounces back on doesn’t it? After 4 wins to start the season Rosberg has only won once which was at the European Grand Prix. Hamilton has won the last three and it’s hard not to see Rosberg doing it here. Rosberg knows this track extremely well and I’m going to back Nico to get the big win.

I also like Sergio Perez for a Top 6 Finish. Force India are really going to enjoy that long back straight and should be able to stretch the tyre stints out. They’ve also gone completely different way on tyre choices which I like – I think they’re going to do something big here.

Perez is a nice price of 2/1 which I can get on board with and you may want to consider a Double Points Finish for Force India. Hulkenburg has shown his ability here beffore. It’s always a risk as you never know what problems any driver has but I’d be backing Perez for the Top 6 finish and then also the double points finish for a bit of a smaller bet.

Finally for the German Grand Prix I’m going to do my usual long odds pick although this one really isn’t all that long – it’s the Grid Position of the Winner to be 2nd. It’s always a frantic first lap at this course and the amount of bad starts over the past season has been rising. It’s very possible we see similar here and while this may contradict the Rosberg pick – we think it’s a solid backup plan as well.

That’s all we have for the German Grand Prix. I’ll be back tomorrow with UFC 201 Betting Tips.
