As I was writing up the tips this morning I saw something pretty interesting on the slate of today’s games: baseball! The Mariners and Athletics kick off spring training with a game today. They are getting an early start because these two teams kick off the season in Japan a bit earlier than the rest of the league.

Tonight sees the return of the NBA with six games on the slate. The big game is probably the Celtics heading to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks. The Celtics entered the season as the presumptive best team in the Eastern Conference, but that has definitely been the Bucks. They lead the league in point differential and currently sit atop the Eastern Conference standings. This next month plus is going to be a tough schedule for them, but that won’t really rear its head until next month.

We are also just four days away from the NHL trade deadline so we should see a flurry of moves over the weekend. The Wild made a big move, sending Charlie Coyle to the Bruins. He’s struggled this season, but this change of scenery should be a big boon to his career. Boston is one of the top teams in the East and he should do well here.

NHL Betting Tips:

A tough slate tonight, but there are is one spot that I am liking here.

New York Islanders at Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers are having a majorly bad season and it could be getting worse. Conor McDavid missed the last game and could miss this one as well. They play the Islanders here who are having a solid season and are fighting for the playoffs. This is a back-to-back for them, but they have done well in bounce back games this year. With the Oilers struggling, this is a place where I have no issue taking the road team here.

Bet Islanders -125

NBA Betting Tips:

Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks: The Bucks have been one of the better home teams in this league as they are 23-5 straight up and 17-11 against the spread. They’ve done well as a favorite of late and really got it done in their new arena. Boston on the road? Not so much. They are 10-16 against the spread in road games this season. Milwaukee is red hot in February with a 6-1 record and I see them rolling here.

Bet Bucks -5.5

Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Lakers: This game features Giannis Antetokounmpo’s main rival for MVP, James Harden. Those two should be 1-2 in the voting at the end of the year and the next few weeks should help swing it.

The Rockets come in as a favorite here and it’s really a sad state of affairs for LeBron James and the Lakers. Every player on the team being subject of trade rumors didn’t really help matters, but now everyone has had time to rest and relax and I think they should come into this game refocused. Home court still matters in this league and I think LeBron James will come out hot here.

Bet Lakers +2.5</strong
