What a boring Super Bowl that was. We took the day off yesterday because none of the early games really appealed to us and we figured the Super Bowl would be taking up most of people’s head space for the day. Sadly, they used that head space to be boring. Graeme is celebrating hard though as a big time Patriots fan, so good for him… I guess.

We had a 1-1 night on Saturday as one of the schedule alert games came in and one didn’t. We should’ve known better than to bet the Suns under any circumstance. This team has a ton of young talent and has a bright future, but they are clearly going for that lottery again and trying to add one more piece like Zion Williamson or Cam Reddish. I doubt you’ll read that team name in a bold link again this season.

NBA is back in action and they are the marquee sport going forward. Things are getting important and the trade deadline is upon us. This should be fun from here on out. Let’s win some games.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets Betting Tips:

I love the Milwaukee Bucks and think they are the cream of the Eastern Conference and that Giannis Antetokounmpo should be the MVP and that Khris Middleton AND Eric Bledsoe deserve to be All-Stars, but I don’t love them here today. This game has letdown written all over it.

This is the fourth game of a road trip for Milwaukee which is always a tough one. They’ve won the previous three too so a letdown is lingering there. They are just 9-8 as a road favorite against the spread this season.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn has won nine straight home games and is really starting to get hot. They are probably feeling desperate for a win at this point too as they are coming off an 0-2 road trip. This line just feels a bit too high for me and Brooklyn is a good value at home.

Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Tips:

I am getting my money back from that loss on Saturday with the Rockets here. Houston has Chris Paul back which settles a lot of my worries about their second unit. James Harden can still do it all when needed, but he shouldn’t need to here. A healthy Harden, Paul, Austin Rivers, and possibly Eric Gordon (listed as questionable) is a ton of offensive power and they have the offensive scheme to utilize it. This Phoenix defense is 29th in the NBA in Defensive Efficiency and this one could get ugly.

The healthier this Houston teams gets, the more I like them. Clint Capela is still out, but I don’t see DeAndre Ayton and the Suns exploiting that. Ayton’s defense is still too bad to make much a difference on that end. Phoenix has lost ten straight games and they are where they are for a reason. I don’t see them getting much better and I honestly think this line should probably be in double digits. As it is, I’m taking the Rockets to win here.
