Three NBA tips for March 1st, 2022.
We have a 70-49 record for the season.
There are roughly twenty games left for most teams and it should come down to the wire.
It should be a real fight in the Eastern Conference for the top seed and to avoid the play-in tournament. The Bucks are currently the fourth seed and they are four games back of the top seed and three games back of the seventh seed. That shows just how tight things are.
The West is a lot more settled in the top six, but there is some question about the play-in spots. The Lakers are barely hanging on at nine with the Pelicans and Blazers tied for the last spot. The Spurs and Kings are not too far behind.
Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics Betting Tips:
The Celtics have been one of the hottest teams in the league of late and they return home after a three-game road trip tonight. They’ve won 11 of their past 13 games with the only losses being to the Pistons and Pacers. That, to me, seems like a team that is looking past lesser opponents and being caught in those games. I don’t see them looking past the Hawks here.
The one advantage that I would give the Hawks over Boston (besides Trae Young) would be their size upfront, but with John Collins listed as doubtful I think it goes out the window.
Six and a half is a bit higher than I’d like for this one, but the Celtics did beat the Hawks at home by ten points last month.

The Nets will be without Kyrie Irving for this one because of his vaccine status and the Nets without their stars have been a real mess this season.
They played Toronto yesterday and were outscored by 36. They lost to Boston by 23 and Washington by 14. Why should things be different today?

Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers Betting Tips:
The Lakers have seemingly given up. They were booed on their home court and blown out by the New Orleans Pelicans in their last game and I don’t see it getting any better tonight. Anthony Davis is still out and LeBron James is listed as questionable. We’ve seen the Russell Westbrook show with this team all season and it’s not pretty.
Dallas has had an amazing defense throughout the season that should be able to handle this team with or without LeBron James. They are fifth in the NBA with a 107.7 Defense Rating. The Lakers have the 25th ranked Offensive Rating in the league. Showtime this is not.
Luka Doncic should be able to easily handle things for this team tonight and do whatever he wants against this Lakers team.
