Last night was highlighted by two awesome playoff games. The Bucks and Raptors started it off with a real slug fest. The Raptors really played great and got contributions from players that were incognito in the last round. This game was fast and featured a ton of three-point shooting, quick passes and great defense. Toronto controlled most of the game, but the Bucks never let up and absolutely took control in the fourth quarter to grab the 1-0 lead. The home crowd definitely helped and Brook Lopez had his best game of the playoffs.

The other great game was in the NHL as the Sharks and Blues played an overtime thriller. The Sharks were 2-0 at the end of the fourth, but then a 4-goal second period by the Blues saw them grab a 4-3 heading into the final period. The Sharks managed to tie it up to force overtime where the Sharks won it. This one wasn’t without controversy as the officials seemingly missed a hand pass that led to the game winning goal. Erik Karlsson put that one in to get San Jose just two wins away from the Stanley Cup.

Plenty of sports action today and here’s hoping we can get something as exciting as last night.

NBA Betting Tips:

Portland Trail Blazers at Golden State Warriors: The Warriors took game one in rather dominating fashion. Klay Thompson and Steph Curry combined for 62 points while the Blazers’ guards of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum only managed to score a total of 36 points. If those trends continue this is going to be a very short series.

I would hope there are some adjustments that the Blazers can make here, but I’m not so sure. The Warriors team has been looking for motivation for most of the season and this Kevin Durant injury was just the thing. The Klay/Curry/Draymond trio has been there since the beginning and won a title without Durant and they are clearly relishing this moment to show that they are still that team. They have done it very well thus far and I expect them to continue to do so here.

Bet Warriors -7.5

NHL Betting Tips:

Boston Bruins at Carolina Hurricanes: The Bruins hold a commanding 3-0 lead over the Hurricanes in this series and this series is basically over. The Hurricanes have had a great run, but they really missed some opportunities in game three and the 0-3 deficit is going to be too much to overcome. That said, this is not the type of team that I see just laying down and taking the sweep. They’ve had a great connection with their home crowd all season and I would be shocked if they didn’t get them a home win here.

Bet Hurricanes -120

MLB Betting Tips:

Minnesota Twins at Seattle Mariners: Minnesota has been one of the very best teams in baseball to start the season and I can see them continuing to be exactly that today against the Mariners. The reason is that Seattle sends Erik Swanson to the mound who has low strikeouts and a high HR/9 rate. He is very hittable and the Seattle bullpen behind him is worse. I like the Twins to grab the win here.
