We’ve got UEFA Champions League action this week but I am not sure if I am going to cover it or not. Like I said early in the month it caused big losses in October for us and I’m actually traveling back from Boston on Monday, so I am not sure if I will be have the time to do the tips or not.
In saying that – a casual look at Tuesdays Champions League tips on the train home tomorrow might be ideal.
We’ll see how it goes. Either way the tips for Tuesday won’t be posted until probably late Monday evening.
Let’s look at the games taking place on Monday now. Quite a few different ones from different leagues so let’s get to it:
Aston Villa vs Newcastle Betting Tips:
An interesting match-up here. Aston Villa are 17th in the English Premier League and Newcastle are 14th.
Villa are going one way and Newcastle the other right now. Villa have lost their last three (although City and Liverpool are in there), while Newcastle have found a rare burst of form and have won 2 and drew 1.
Despite their recent troubles however, Villa are a solid little home team with a 2-2-2 record. Not great or anything but not too bad. Their main issue is defensively. They have the 6th best scoring record in the EPL prior to this weekends games.
I like Villa to bounce back here. They’re going to remind themselves that they were able to beat Norwich 5-1 and also beat Brighton, and that they can get back on track. They don’t deserve to be this close to the relegation zone.
While they struggle defensively, Newcastle struggle offensively and their strikers aren’t scoring. Their last 9 goals are from defenders(7) and midfielders(2).
I like Villa to bounce back here. Slight concern they are happy with the draw to stop the losing run but I think they have enough talent to see off the Magpies.

SPAL vs Genoa Betting Tips:
An interesting one between two off-form teams.
SPAL are currently 2nd bottom in Serie A while as I write this Genoa are just out of the relegation zone in 17th.
SPAL haven’t won in their last 5 games after that 1-0 win over Parma. More concerning is they have just scored 1 goal in that span when Jasmin Kurtic scored for them against Napoli.
Genoa are coming off a 0-0 draw against Napoli. Funny that both teams were able to get a draw against them.
Genoa however are poor away and are yet to win on the road this season. They’ve got better with the draw against Napoli and a close game against Juventus but prior to that they got thumped by Parma and Lazio.
Genoa have the worst defense in the league and while SPAL have the worst offense, I think SPAL are able to get at least a goal here while keeping Genoa at bay.
