A 1-1 record last night.

The Nuggets came out strong last night and got the win to make their series 2-1 with the Lakers. We had the Nuggets and the points and that one came in easily. Unfortunately, we also took the under and that ended up being six points over. The totals have been our kryptonite in this series thus far.

Anthony Davis had another strong scoring game with 27 points, but only had two rebounds. The Nuggets had a 44-25 advantage in the rebounding category for this one. Another stat that really shows the Lakers struggles is they shot just 14/22 on free throws. Eight free throws is a lot of missed free throws, especially when you lose by eight.

Jamal Murray had a huge game for the Nuggets with 28 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds. He is really proving himself to be one of the superstars of this league and Denver is looking like a bunch of geniuses for re-signing him to the big extension last summer.

Anyone who is saying things like “the Lakers let their guard down” or generally not giving the Nuggets credit is completely missing the boat. This isn’t quite the same, but it reminds me a lot of when the Pistons upset the Lakers in the Finals. Nobody wanted to accept that one team was great until it was too late and they were the champions. While I still think the Lakers will win this series, I wouldn’t put anything past the Nuggets and they are going to be a force in the West for years to come.

I really can’t wait for the next game of this series, but I’m equally excited for tonight’s game between the Heat and the Celtics. Let’s get into it.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics Betting Tips:

We had a 2-0 record the last time out with this series and have been nailing it throughout.

The Celtics got the win to save their series in the last game. A big part of that was the return of Gordon Hayward who played some big minutes for them and changed the game plan quite a bit. The Heat had a very rough night from three with a 12/44 shooting night while the Celtics outscored them in the paint 60-36. Boston came out huge in the first half here as they have in nearly every game of this series.

I think that trend will continue here. There is just something about the Celtics game plan that causes them to come out strong in the first half and the Heat are always playing the adjustment game. They had huge first half leads in game two and game three, and a huge first quarter in game one. I see no reason that trend doesn’t hold here.

Bet Celtics -2.5 First Half

While I still like the Heat to win this series, I am not going to take them here tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if they win, but I am just not positive that they will. The Cetlics have been favored in every game of this series for a reason and they seemed to have really unlocked something in the last game.

Boston have lead the series for 111 of the 149 total minutes of game action. I like Miami, but that is just not going to get it done. They need to play a complete game at some point in this series. The Celtics finally did in game three and we saw what happened.

We are going with the over again here as our second pick. The Celtics were absolutely in attack mode in the last game and that really worked out well for them. While the Heat are bound to have a better shooting game from three than we saw last time out. The game has went over in two of the three previous games and the only under was by one basket.
