It was a 1-1 day for a loss in the UEFA Champions League yesterday unfortunately.
We won with under 2.5 goals in the AEK vs Ajax game. That was a bit nerve wracking when after 67 minutes of no goals, AEK Athens had a man sent off. Ajax converted the penalty then scored 4 minutes later giving us 18 minuts of squeaky bum time. Thankfully no more goals were scored.
We lost with one that really surprised me in CSKA Moscow. Had them to win and they were 1-0 up after 10 minutes to Plzen but ended up losing 2-1 in a bit of a shocker. I know CSKA aren’t playing at their home stadium but I still would have expecte better. As it is watching the game I felt they didn’t deserve to lose but also didn’t do enough to win.
Alas I chickened out on a Juve/Man Utd double and that would have won. I did end up betting it although I didn’t tip it and that was probably the right thing to do – United won 1-0 in the 91st minute. I went pretty mental at that haha.
Porto vs Schalke Betting Tips:
Porto are top of Group D with 3 wins and a draw against Schalke. Porto have practically qualified but mathematically they could still be eliminated. A draw would see them through.
Schalke can’t afford to lose although even if they do, victory over whipping boys Lokomotiv Moscow at home would be enough so that’s not too bad. I can’t see them pushing too much here.
Schalke aren’t known for goals in the group with 4 goals in 4 games scored and just one against. Porto have been a bit more adventurous on the goalscoring front. Defensively Porto are very solid and in the domestic league have conceded just 6 goals in 10 games.
I see this being a tight affair between two teams who know they have most likely qualified and playing it safe.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Inter Milan Betting Tips:
Spurs are at home here and need a victory over Inter Milan if they have any hope of qualifying for the Champions League. I mean I guess they could draw and still go through but going to Barcelona needing a win? Nah not the best idea.
I think we’ll see a desperate Spurs performance – simplar to when they went to PSV. Their defense has been a disaster in the Champions League and even the usually reserved Inter saw a 3 goal game against them last time they played.
Spurs are coming in on form and Inter are hyped up for this one. They rested Mauro Icardi and the lethal front man is looking forward to getting on target in this one no doubt.
This should be a cracker of a game and I like the goals to be a plenty.
