Well, I hope you had a great Easter (if not the chocolate, at lesat the time off work) and I hope you have tomorrow off to celebrate the royal wedding. By celebrate the royal wedding, I mean have a long lie-in after sitting up watching the Premier League Darts action from Liverpool.
Last week we went 2-1 and it was all down to Terry Jenkins taking out a bull finish when it really didn’t seem likely. That takes us to 17-19 for the Premier League and -13.53 units for the season.
We’re in Liverpool for week 12 of the Premier League and we’ve got an absolutely cracking match in store, although it’s not even the main event.

Let’s get right down to the action for Liverpool’s night of Premier League Darts action.
Mark Webster versus Terry Jenkins.
Well, it’s not the hottest match to start things, but Terry Jenkins will be happy with his point against Raymond van Barneveld last week when it looked like he was heading for defeat. Jenkins averaged 99.51, was 50% on his doubles and looked a lot better than he has in recent Premier League outings.
Mark Webster, on the other hand, just keeps on sinking to new Premier League lows. He lost 8-1 to James Wade, who, it has to be said, did play some magnificent darts. Webster averaged 92.17 and never held his throw.
The bet that grabs me is the player to score the most maximums in the match. Jenkins is confident and he’s a power scorer when he gets in. Webster is lacking in confidence and he’s more of a 140 scorer, anyway, while Jenkins does like to fill up the treble 20. He’s a nice price for us to take on and it will give us something to cheer on right up until the last double is landed. As it stands, it’s hard to pick an outright winner of the match, so we’ll be dabbling here instead and I really do think Jenkins has the measure of Webster in this market, so we’ll be betting accordingly.

Phil Taylor versus Gary Anderson.
The Premier League’s top dog, Phil Taylor, takes on the man who many see as the Premier League’s heir apparent, Gary Anderson. Both men have looked in good form in the Premier League, with just a slight blip by both men at some stage in the campaign. The last time the played, it was nip and tuck right up until the final leg, when Taylor prevailed the 8-6 winner. Will lightning strike twice? It’s highly likely. The bookies have Taylor quite a bit of a short order at 1/2 to beat Anderson and looking at last week’s matches, it might be fair enough.
Last week, Taylor dismantled the world champion, Adrian Lewis, 8-3 and averaged 107.46, taking out 57% of his doubles. Anderson eventually got past Simon Whitlock 8-6 in an amazing match, where he averaged 103.52, but was almost let down badly by his doubling (28%).
The fact is, this match will come down to doubling and Anderson’s doubling hasn’t been up to scratch quite a bit of the time. He’ll need to up that to defeat Taylor and I don’t think he’s capable of it. That being said, 1/2 is a bit skinny for Taylor, so we’ll have to find some vaule elsewhere.
Anderson is a slight favourite to score more 180s than Phil Taylor and judging by last week’s record breaking 11 in his match against Simon Whitlock, it’s where we’re going to look again. While Taylor is a heavy scorer, he should score more 180s than he does.

Raymond van Barneveld versus James Wade.
Contrasting fortunes for James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld last week, with Wade a very comfortable winner over Mark Webster and he averaged 106.26 in doing so. Raymodn van Barneveld just couldn’t hold onto his lead last week and drew with Terry Jenkins, although he averaged 100.87, so it wasn’t that bad a performance. His doubling, at 44%, was decent, too.
This has making of an epic match is both men play to their best, which they’ve been showing signs of recently. The bookies can’t separate them and neither can I.
I do believe this match can and will go the distance, so it will be the total legs betting that we’ll be looking at. The 12.5 line is extremely generous and it’s worthwhile exploting this.

Simon Whitlock versus Adrian Lewis.
The main event of the evening and, in my opinion, a strange choice. Yes, it’s the world champion, Adrian Lewis, on show and Simon Whitlock always gets the crowds going, but it doesn’t have the draw of Anderson versus Taylor, does it? Still, it will be a cracking match and both men will be looking to get a much needed win to help them in their play-off quest.
Whitlock will no doubt feel unlucky losing 8-6 to Gary Anderson with his 98.35 average and he can look at his 35% as his downfall. If he can sort that out, Lewis will have a fight on his hands. Lewis averaged 100.89 in his 8-3 defeat to Phil Taylor. He took out 33% of his doubles and it’s not strong enough to cause someone like Taylor trouble.
Looking at the stats, this match is going to be close, the bookies think that, too. Much like the previous match, this has the potential to go all the way and this time we’ll look at the draw as the value.
