A great day here yesterday as we went 2-0 with an NFL win and an MLB win.

The MLB win was a big one as the Milwaukee Brewers continued their hot run as they are now on a 10-1 run. Unfortunately for them, the Cubs have also been hot as they’ve won five straight so despite that run they are still a game back of the Cubs for the Wild Card and 1.5 back of the Nationals.

That race has also made the NL Central race a bit more interesting as the Cubs are two games back of the Cardinals with the Brewers being three back.

For the Brewers, this is just more of the same. In the past four seasons, the Brewers have a 63-35 record in September. There is probably some luck involved there, but the depth of this team also has a ton to do with it as well and I’m interested to see how far they can take it.

MLB Betting Tips:

San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers: With all that being said above, we have to go with them again. The Brewers have just been one of the hotter teams in the game right now and the Padres are definitely trying to get out of the season.

Brandon Woodruff goes for the Brewers and while he has had injury issues, he’s been the Brewers best starter on the year with a 3.75 ERA/3.10 FIP. He has a huge 10.4 K/9 rate and faces a Padres offense that has the second highest strikeout rate in the years. There will be strikeouts today.

The Padres send Chris Paddack who is due for some regression on the road. On the road he has a 3.65 ERA/4.77 FIP with a very low BABIP. We’re running out of time for those numbers to regress and what better time for that to happen than against one of the hottest teams in the game right now.

WNBA Betting Tips:

Los Angeles Sparks at Connecticut Sun: The WNBA Playoff semifinals begin tonight and this will be the first match-up for the number-two seeded Connecticut Sun. They play at home tonight which has been very kind to them with a 15-2 record on the season.

That said, they were lost the season series to the Sparks and this should be a tight match-up. The Sun are interesting team as they skew younger with no one of the roster age 30 or older. That said, they may have the best continuity in the league as the Sun starting lineup has played 1,014 minutes together and notched 61 starts over the last three seasons, both numbers are tops in the WNBA.

The Sparks have really put together an impressive resume under coach Derek Fisher. They are coming off a dominating performance against the Storm to get here and now look to continue that run here.

I just don’t see the Sun losing game one at home though. They are the fresher team and they have just been such a better team when playing at home this season .
