This Saturday we have UFC 264, featuring of course one Conor McGregor taking on Dustin Poirier in their rubber match.

It should be a really interesting fight. We’ve got a really stacked card too. Gilbert Burns vs Stephen Thompson is the co-main. Greg Hardy and Sean O’Malley are in action.

Love him or hate him – Conor cards are the best on paper be cause Dana knows how many casuals are watching and want to get them hooked.

Here’s my UFC 264 Betting Tips. I will use a confidence system of 1u-3u.

UFC 264 Betting Tips:

Dustin Poirier to beat Conor McGregor – 2u at -125. Despite his issues, I am a big Conor fan and will be cheering him on. He’s also a very smart and clever fighter; look at the way he adjusted for example in the second Nate Diaz fight. That was impressive.

However a combination of the move to Welterweight, and even Lightweight to a degree, has changed him. As has the Floyd Mayweather fight. His style has changed drastically. He is more of a boxer now, and not as light on his feet. That cost him big time in the Poirier fight as he leaned too heavily on the front leg and Dustin went to task on it.

Can he re-adjust his style? It’s possible. But Dustin is a top, top fighter and the only way this isn’t -200 odds is because of who he is fighting and the money on Conor. I really do hope McGregor wins but I think Poirier can take him. Poirier also talked about how Conor wasn’t really strong and I think we will see him adjust and dominate him more. Poirier by submission isn’t the worst bet but the odds don’t make it worth it.

Kris Moutinho to beat Sean O’Malley – 1u at +600. Not that I actually think O’Malley will lose – but the odds make it a bet. Dana sets these fights up a lot; gives the potential next star a nice and easy fight. Yet if you look through these historically, these hot prospects lose enough to make it worth betting against them.

Dricus Du Plessis to beat Trevin Giles – 2u at -115. Very surprised at these odds. Giles has some weaknesses that Dricus will take full advantage of. Giles is a tough dude with serious KO power of course so could catch him early. But I like Dricus to take it.

Alen Amedovski to beat Yaozong Hu – 1u at -135. Yaozong Hu making his Middleweight debut. Hasn’t fought in forever. Can’t find the right weight class it seems. Amedovski also been awhile since he fought but he is a heck of a striker and Yaozong last time we saw him had very brutal defense.
