If you’re a fan of the LPGA, then you will no doubt be looking forward to the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic which takes place over September 18th through September 21st, 2014 in Prattville, Alabama.
This tournament debuted in 2007 and takes place at the RTJ Golf Trail, on Capitol Hill as the Navistar LPGA Classic.
Navistar did not actually sponsor the tournament last year and it was dropped however Yokohama Tire have stepped up to take over and bring the LPGA back to this course.

Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic Winner #1:Lexi Thompson
Despite not massive odds, we have to go with the 2nd favourite to win the tournament Lexi Thompson. In the two previous years at this course, she has finished #2 and #1. You just can’t argue with a track record like that.
Stacy Lewis is of course the top money earner but she hasn’t been impressive lately. Since winning the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship she hasn’t had any Top 10 finishes.
Sure – Thompson is in a similar state – but this is a course where she can really get her game back on, and her tied for 10 finish in the Evian Championship means she is just warming up for this one.
Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic Winner #2:Mi Jung Hur
Tied for 3rd in the last tournament out, Mi Jung Hur had a 3rd finish at the Yokohama tire LPGA Classic in 2012.
Mi Jung Hur has been running hot lately after a poor season. She has had many cuts, and very few money finishes, but we’ve finally seen some consistency. Mi Jung Hur finished tied for 9th at the Portland Classic, and of course as mentioned 3rd at the Evian Championship. Who knows what would have happened if she hadn’t struggled on the 3rd round – but the 40/1 price on her is massive and there is value in her.
Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic Winner #3: Angela Stanford
Angela Stanford is one of those golfers who runs hot and cold. After two hot finishes of 2nd and 5th back in the Summer, she’s been on a poor run although still managed to get some money finishes.
The Evian Championship withstanding, Stanford is someone who generally performs well on the same courses as previous years. Considering a tied for 3rd place finish in 2012, she’s easily worth a bet here at the 28/1 odds.
YOKOHAMA TIRE RESULTS & ANALYSIS:
An excellent, excellent tournament for us, as we scored the massive winner.
Mi Jung Hur managed to win the tournament with an impressive -21 and 2nd placed Stacy Lewis was 4 behind her in quite the difference. Here is the winning bet:
That was fantastic as she was amongst the top all the way, and hit two final excellent rounds of under 70 while the others were hitting at least one round over.
Lexi Thompson unfortunately was cut after round 2 where she shot a 78. She went off early and could not get back on track. Angela Stanford cashed with a respectable -7. She hit 68-70-67 after a disastrous first round of 76. If she’d hit even 70 on that first round we would have been celebrating two victories today.
